Aviation
Aircraft cannot take off until de-icing is complete, and this process can extend ground time and cost, especially in sub-zero conditions. Pumps used in de-icing must work reliably in all weather and deliver the required flow at the right pressure within a tight turnaround window.

Cost Pressure On The Ground And In The Air
The aviation industry operates under sustained cost pressure. Fuel-price fluctuations are one of several forces pushing manufacturers to improve fuel efficiency and aerodynamic performance in new aircraft, including through wider use of lightweight composite materials such as carbon fibre.
On the apron, the pressure is measured in minutes. Aircraft cannot take off until de-icing is complete, and in sub-zero conditions that process extends ground time and cost. The pumps involved have to perform in all weather, first time, every time.
Why low shear matters here. Glycol, the key ingredient in the aggressive de-icing mixture, is highly shear-sensitive. A pump that degrades it degrades the de-icing performance with it — which is why the progressive cavity principle, with its low shear and gentle conveying, is the right technology for this duty.
Pumps For Smooth Air Traffic
Our low-shear progressive cavity pumps handle the aggressive de-icing mixture from drum to disposal — three stages, three pump ranges.
Drum & Tank Emptying
De-icing agents are supplied in drums and tanks as a concentrate or aqueous solution, and are emptied using our compact SD Range pumps — which can be configured for specific drum or tank depths.
SD RangeTransfer To De-Icing Vehicles
ROTOMAC S Range pumps transfer de-icing fluid from storage tanks into de-icing vehicles ahead of spraying, with a compact footprint that suits space-constrained ground equipment.
S RangeDisposal & Recycling
For disposal and recycling, our MP & LA Dosing Range meters chemicals with accuracy of ±1% and low pulsation — keeping the recovery process controlled and repeatable.

Airport Wastewater Treatment
Our pumps and macerators are used at various stages of the airport wastewater treatment process.
Aircraft Wing Manufacturing
Our S Range pumps handle polymer slurry, solvents and dope in the production of aircraft-grade precursor carbon fibre used in wing manufacturing.
De-Icing
Our compact and S Range standard pumps transport shear-sensitive glycol to de-icing stations.
