As Paper Pulp & Paper Sector
High Hours, Thin Margins
The pulp and paper industry is one of the most demanding market sectors given the sheer variety of products it produces. Manufacturing the many types of pulp, paper and board requires sophisticated machinery and processes, with high energy consumption and significant capital investment — making operational efficiency essential to staying competitive.
With high annual operating hours, choosing efficient, reliable pump technology matters. Re-adjustable, long-lasting components that are quick to maintain support predictable, forward-planned maintenance schedules rather than unplanned stoppages.
Maintenance you can schedule. A re-adjustable stator lets a worn pump be brought back to performance in place, rather than stripped and re-parted. On a mill running close to continuous, that difference shows up directly in availability.
One Platform, Three Duties
Coating colours, process chemicals and paper stock make very different demands. Each has a range built for it.
Process Media Transfer
Our S Range pumps convey low to highly viscous products, with or without solids, across pulp and paper mills.
- Adhesives, coating colours and dyes
- Titanium dioxide, starches and calcium carbonate
- Bentonite, recovered waste and wastewater
Chemical & Additive Dosing
Delivers low to highly viscous products with low shear, minimal pulsation and repeatability of ±1%.
- Process chemicals used throughout production
- Colour additives and finishing chemicals
- Repeatability of ±1% prevents overdosing
Paper Stock & Semi-Solids
Large rectangular hoppers with integrated auger feed suit highly viscous and semi-solid products such as paper stock.
- Large rectangular feed hopper
- Integrated auger feed for low-flowability stock
- Handles highly viscous and semi-solid product
ROTOMAC Pumps For The Paper And Pulp Industry
Five stages of the mill, and the pump range specified for each.
Stock Preparation And Treatment
Our S Range, Open Hopper and MP & LA Dosing Range pumps convey coatings, dyes, glue, and bleached or unbleached wood and paper pulp fibres to the stock preparation area with minimal pulsation and high accuracy.
Paper Finishing
Dosing of additives and finishing chemicals is carried out with our MP & LA Dosing Range, delivering ±1% accuracy and repeatability with low shear and minimal pulsation to prevent overdosing.
Coating
Our pumps gently convey and accurately meter additives, pigments and binders in coating kitchens ahead of the next process stage.
Bleaching In Chemical Pulp Production
Our S Range pumps deliver caustic soda and other bleaching chemicals to ±1% accuracy with minimal pulsation, and handle black liquor in the recovery process.
Wastewater Treatment
Wastewater is reliably handled through the treatment process by our S Range pumps or, for highly viscous non-flowable products, our Open Hopper Range, with the MP & LA Dosing Range also used for flocculant dosing where required.
Pump Ranges For Pulp & Paper
The ranges most often specified for this sector. Send us your duty and our engineers will confirm the model.
W Range
Open hopper pumps with integrated auger feed for highly viscous, semi-solid and non-flowable products.
S Range
Robust all-round progressive cavity pumps conveying low to highly viscous products, with or without solids.
Dosing Range
Precise metering of low to highly viscous, aggressive media with high accuracy and minimal pulsation.
